CAPTIVE/RRG
INSURANCE IMPLEMENTATION The
decision to form a captive must be preceded by a thorough examination of the advantages,
disadvantages, and costs as they relate to the organization’s situation. Such examinations are referred to as
“feasibility studies” – internal staff, insurance brokers, captive managers,
or independent consultants may perform these studies. If a captive structure makes sense and the
firm decides to proceed, a business plan and
five-year financial projection should be developed and submitted to the
insurance regulatory agency within the chosen domicile to petition for the
issuance of an insurance license. |
